The frame's great! In stock form, the bike was a bit on the heavy side for a 4.5-inch travel bike. I practically replaced/upgraded nearly every component to lose some weight. But the frame is really good and is well worth the parts upgrade. My best upgrade was replacing the stock RockShox Bar 2.1 shock with a Fox Float R. I also recommend replacing the fork with one that has rebound adjustment, like I did. Now my Haro Shift R3 really rocks! Get the R7 to avoid having to upgrade the parts later. BTW, it's a beauty.
I just bought my 2007 Haro Shift R3 and it is great. I bike in town along the Trinity trails and at the local mountain trails and the bike is great!! I handles like a charm. If you don't have a lot of money to spend, this one gets you alot of bang for your buck.
